Meet the Team

Dr. Monique F. Jones, a proud native of North Carolina, discovered her passion for animals early in life. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from North Carolina A&T State University in 1993, and went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1997.

After graduating, Dr. Jones moved to Chesapeake, Virginia, where she practiced in the Hampton Roads area for eight years. In 2005, she fulfilled her lifelong dream by founding Family Veterinary Center, a place where pets are treated with compassion, respect, and the highest standard of care.

Dr. Jones is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association. She is dedicated to fostering strong relationships with pet owners while providing exceptional veterinary services to the community.

Outside of her work, Dr. Jones enjoys spending quality time with her family and her two beloved dogs, Bleux and Piper. Her hobbies include cooking, crafting, swimming, and biking—activities that keep her creativity and energy flowing.

Jessie has been with Family Vet since 2006 and is a familiar face to many clients. She is always finding ways to help animals and people in need. She did an exotic and wildlife education program and an educational internship at the zoo. She enjoys building relationships with clients and pets a like! She has 2 dogs, 1 cat, 2 lizards, and a fish. Her favorite activities are crafting, gardening, and going to Disney! 

Roni has had a love for animals since she was young and has wanted to work in Veterinary Medicine for as long as she can remember. She went to school for veterinary assisting at Animal Behavior College and previously worked for a dog boarding facility. 

Roni has been with Family Vet since late 2019 and enjoys snuggling all of the animals who come in to the clinic. She has 3 dogs at home, 2 cats, a leopard gecko, and a bearded dragon.  And enjoys playing with her dogs and snuggling her cats!

Georgia has been with Family Vet since late 2020 and has always had a passion for animals since she was young. She has 1 dog and 1 very angry cat at home! She plans on going to Veterinary Technician school very soon, and enjoys putt-putt golf and hanging out on the beach. 

Kelley has been with us since 2017 and loves working up front with the clients, interacting with everyone who comes in and making them feel welcome to the clinic, truly embodying the family atmosphere. 

Originally from Rhode Island, she moved to the area in 2010 and her husband is now retired from the Navy. Never one to enjoy cooking, she loves that her husband is a very good cook!

Kelley has two super smart and amazing Australian Shepherds, Micky and Lucy, and would have many more if her husband got on board and she had the space for it.
